Community Thanksgiving

Thursday, November 25, 2021

4pm-7pm

We need volunteers, food donations and financial donations to be able to feed many of the hungry in our community.

Welcome to Autumn, when leaves change and fall, enriching the soil of God’s creation!

I don’t know about y’all, but I am happy that fall is here, and cooler weather is coming! This has been one hot summer! But the best part of fall is Thanksgiving, my second favorite holiday! I love Thanksgiving because of all the yummy baked goodies, family sitting around sharing stories of what we are thankful for! What are you thankful for?

As the leaves change color and start to fall, let us start a change in ourselves! Let’s be more caring and understanding towards our neighbor! The trees are turning over a new leaf and so should we. These times have been hard on all of us. I know it is easy for us to demonize those who are different from us. But now is the time we should come together and help our fellow man (or woman). We don’t know why some are in the situation that they are in. It’s not our place to judge. Matthew 7:1-2 says “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.” After all God’s second greatest commandment is to Love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:36-40) Now is the time to show love for your neighbor! Not only is Thanksgiving around the corner but Covid-19 is affecting a lot of people all around us. Personally, I don’t know anyone who hasn’t been affected one way or another by Covid. In the past two years we have struggled and lost loved ones to this virus. Businesses and Churches have closed, people have lost their jobs and homes, but we still must remain faithful as a nation that God will heal us!

Blankets & Jackets

Many of the people in our community need blankets and jackets as winter approaches. If you have any blankets or jackets you would like to donate, please let us know. To donate or if you need a jacket or blanket contact:

Community Thanksgiving

Thursday, November 25, 2021

4pm-7pm

We missed our community Thanksgiving last year due to Covid-19 but not this year! Many members of our community do not have family to visit or the means to have a Thanksgiving meal. For our Community Thanksgiving this year we will be pre making plates and delivering them to those in need. We need volunteers, food donations and financial donations to be able to feed as many of the hungry as we can in our community. If you are interested in helping contact:

Church Reconstruction

We have been talking with serval contractors and we have someone in our budget who can repair our roof. We still have a long way to go in raising the money we need to make the necessary repairs. Because of the leaking roof the entire inside of the building must be demolished and rebuilt. We had to get rid of almost everything.

Church, this is where we need you to step in and help us with prayers and donations!

A Note from
Our Pastor

mfha.jpg

As we move into the fall of 2021 a lot of things have changed for Free Life. We have went

from in-person services to online services for over a year and our building could not reopen.

We have had problems getting the roof fixed. We have black mold from being closed and the

roof leaking. It seems like we've had obstacle after obstacle to overcome. While it would be easy to look at the negative side of this, I can see positive. We have gained a lot of new members simply having an online presence. Several from around state and country tune in to us every Sunday at 11 a.m. I said all that to say this. Moving forward we must do what we say in our confession. "We speak those things that be not as though they were. That is how you speak in faith". This does not just apply to smokers, junkies, gamblers and overeaters. This applies to us in everyday life. This applies to Free Life. We are champions so we must act and talk like champions. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1 "Faith (trust) is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen". Now more than ever we need to trust God and follow his guidance. Things have changed and are changing and we have to listen to the voice of God and follow Him. This means that we have to adapt. God's will not our will. As Jesus prayed in the garden "Not my will by thy will be done". Whatever the situation is at Free Life we will always trust God and we will do what He wants and not what we feel. Life might throw us curve balls but if we listen to God we will always hit a homerun! We are champions!
